First of all, I have to praise the kitchen. The food is very tasty and nicely presented. The ambience is as one would imagine, for the old village, rustic but really nice. The only drawback is the young waitress, you made yourself noticed and she saw it but ignored it really skillfully. But in the end we got a very nice waitress.

In the old town of Westerholt, this restaurant is very suitable, cozy and with a very good kitchen and friendly staff.

I'm always looking for really excellent restaurants that offer German cuisine. I like Greeks, Italians, Japanese, etc. but nothing beats the local cooking skills. The more you were abroad, the more you appreciate your own! I ended up in Westerholt by chance, a really beautiful, romantic, idyllic village with half-timbered houses. The Altes Dorf inn was the highlight; I have rarely eaten so well. A starter platter of the house type, i.e. what is currently there and then fresh chanterelles with hash browns with a vegetable sauce. I felt at home and can only recommend this kitchen, as well as the ambience and the service. It was a real little vacation in the middle of North Rhine-Westphalia!

Hello and good evening, thanks for your answer. I can underline that with the level. I was eating in a restaurant tonight, the name I don't call. There was a buffet with fresh things including a very large fresh fish selection. There I could eat double and triple a fresh salmon among other things. With the same quality. I paid a lot less here. I don't want to write anymore either. I can only say that their price-performance ratio is absolutely excessive. I found what you call a restaurant that suits me moderately. In which the price-performance ratio is really appropriate. Not the way it is with them. I definitely wish them all the best. So everyone has something that is important to them.

We were eating Christmas here with 6 people. The meal was okay. However, the portion of salmon was far too small for 40 euros. The price was absolutely overpriced. There are restaurants in Marl with a huge selection. It costs 17 euros here. Here you have the opportunity to eat 4 to 5 times as much (fresh !!!) salmon. The price-performance ratio in the restaurant was miserable. That's why I advised my friends to avoid the restaurant if you spend a lot of money and go home hungry ....

I enjoyed it very much and the service was fast and friendly. Price wise, but the whole thing is quite high up, about 30 € we have spent per person. That does not fit right now to the bowling alley in the basement ...
